03.05.18:
Sealord Group has taken delivery of its new state-of-the art fishing vessel.

The vessel has a length of 81,75 m and a beam of 17,0 m.  "Tokatu" is arranged for a crew of 50 persons.  The main engine has a capacity of 5400 kW, fuel capacity is abt. 1120 cbm.  Total cargo capacity is abt. 2500 cbm.

"Tokatu" will be able to fish for all Sealord’s target species such as hoki, orange roughy, along with pelagic fish like barracouta, squid and jack mackerel. In addtition, a fishmeal plant has been installed, making the vessel a zero-waste trawler.

The trawler, which will have the capacity to catch 20,000 tonnes of fish a year, will have an automatic plate freezer and palletising facility – which means great savings in efficiencies.

"Tokatu" is expected to leave the yard in Norway within the end of this week and set the course for Nelson, New Zealand where the official naming ceremony will take place after arrival into homeport.

03.05.18:
